The Facilities Engineer III oversees the daily activities for repairing or maintaining a variety of equipment necessary for the operation of County facilities. This position will have a new and different work environment every day and will perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks for the safety, comfort, security, and beautification of facilities County-wide. The Facilities Engineer IV serves as an expert knowledge resource and leader for the facilities engineering team and is the lead point of contact for facilities maintenance, problem solving, and will evaluate the need for changes or recommendations regarding facility systems. These full-time, non-exempt, benefit-eligible position is located at a variety of Anoka County properties. This position requires an on-call rotation. The working hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Interviews will take place as applications are received. Pay & Benefits Facilities Engineer III Salary: (min-mid) $60,819.20 - $72,966.40 ($29.24 to $35.08 per hour). 2024 Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 32: (min-max) $60,819.20 - $85,113.60 ($29.24 to $40.92 per hour). Facilities Engineer IV Salary (min-mid): $70,012.80 to $84,011.20 ($33.66 to $40.39 per hour). 2024 Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 34. (min-max) $70,012.80 to $98,009.60 ($33.66 to $47.12 per hour). 24 days of paid flexible time off and up to 12.5 paid holidays. Expected work hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Job Duties and Responsibilities These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of an Anoka County Facilities Engineer III: Operate, repair, and maintain stationary facilities equipment including boilers, generators, and refrigeration in Anoka County buildings and facilities. Support the team on complex maintenance, engineering, or maintenance concerns. Schedule, coordinate, and perform preventative maintenance and determine methods for minimizing disturbance, inconvenience, and risk for county employees and customers, and accurately document completed procedures and records of equipment testing results. Maintain, monitor, and adjust heating and air-conditioning systems and alarms and perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs as needed, includi g cleaning condenser and evaporator coils, greasing motors, bearings, and replacing belts. Repair and replace faulty electrical equipment including lighting fixtures, bulbs and ballasts, electrical receptacles, and switches, exit lighting, emergency lighting, and related equipment. Maintain piping and drain systems, clean and snake drains, repair and replace plumbing fixtures, flush-o-meters, faucets, leaking pipes, and drains. Ensure doors and door hardware are in good working order, including hinges, door closers, door handles, locks and lock systems, and repair or replace these as needed to maintain a secure environment. Perform complex troubleshooting and maintenance on air compressors, fans, pumps, and outdoor equipment. Coordinate annual boiler inspections and cleanings and ensure safe operation and maintenance of flame detection devices, climate controls. Ensure proper records of boiler readings, water temperatures, and usage, and perform troubleshooting and repair problems with boilers, boiler pumps, and valves. Direct and assist with the repair, moving, maintenance, and customization of office furnishings and equipment, including raising/lowering workstation surfaces, flipper doors, and cabinets, lubricating office chairs, repairing drawers and slides, hanging bulletin boards and pictures, general carpentry, plastering, painting, wallpaper repairs, ceiling tile replacement, and carpet repair and removal. Respond to and maintain alarms related to facilities safety, including pipe alarms, sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems, and related equipment. Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
