Gotion, Inc Senior Electrical Facilities Engineer in Big Rapids, Michigan

Gotion is looking for a Senior Electrical Facilities Engineer to join our team in Michigan. We are rapidly expanding our battery facilities in the US and beyond, and this role is pivotal to our growth. Facilities Engineering, Senior Electrical Facilities Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new engineering standards & best practices.
  • Lead electrical engineering projects for the Facilities Engineering team, including working cross-functionally with design teams, construction, field operations, and vendors.
  • Lead design / construction activities for Electrical equipment, power distribution, substation, transformer, switch panel.
  • Evaluate facility processes and industry best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • R&D: Perform technical design reviews for first of kind systems and equipment.
  • Design: Review regional specific requirements and impact on facility infrastructure systems. Review battery plant design, schedule and construction drawings.
  • Construction Document Review & Coordination: Understands that the accuracy and completeness of the construction documents is directly tied to the success of the project and is willing to provide detailed reviews, lead review sessions, and coordinate the resolution of review comments with all team members. Ultimately, this position is expected to know the documents "inside and out".
  • Construction Support: review submittals, RFIs, and turnover documentation. Provide technical support for construction issues.
  • Commissioning: Review battery manufacturing commissioning scripts to ensure they accurately test all modes of operations. Witness key commissioning tests.
  • Perform readiness review of new build projects to inform overall building acceptance.
  • Troubleshoot automation and instrumentation issues on facility equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining operational status of all electrical equipment throughout the facility.
  • Responsible for defining and performing maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain positive posture in all safety programs and activities.
  • Participate and lead as required maintenance improvement activities.
  • Assist in training maintenance personnel of lower classification as required.
  • Travel to different sites in support of pre-engineering, implementation, startup testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Approximately 20% travel.
