Title: Facilities O&M Mechanical Systems Engineer

Area: Facilities Operations and Maintenance

Job Summary and Description:

The Facilities O&M Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for working in a team environment, with parallel fields, in order to analyze operational efficiency activities and identify cost effective sustaining and manufacturing improvements. Applicants must be prepared to take personal ownership of typical Semiconductor Facilities Mechanical and Electrical systems such as air compressors, boilers, chillers, pumping systems and general HVAC. This position also includes the tasks of a building coordinator of site Central Utility Plants (CUPs). This posting requires a hard work ethic and diligent attention to detail. The Facilities O&M Engineer must have the pertinent communication skills that enable the coordination with system owners, maintenance crews and construction trades in order to drive projects and daily tasks.

  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to be diligent, follow complex procedures, and work with minimal direction

  • Intermediate PC skills including a familiarity with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MICAP, Ariba, and FMS

  • Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and self-improve

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, propose, and implement effective plans to improve overall efficiency

  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex problems and address root causes

  • Strong partnering, negotiation, and team-working skills with team members from different disciplines

  • Proven ability to communicate and present technical information effectively to all audiences

  • Strong understanding of data extraction, data analysis and reporting methodologies

  • Demonstrated knowledge of utility metrics, utility costs, etc.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety codes and regulations

  • Proven ability to reduce costs associated with a process or area

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Minimum – Degree in Mechanical or Electrical/Control engineering

  • Preferred: Master's Degree in Engineering and/or your discipline specific Professional Engineer certification

  • Preferred: Three or more years of Facilities/Plant Operations experience
