WPX Energy, Inc. Landman II in Carlsbad, New Mexico
With minimal guidance, the Landman II handles land assignments of a broad scope and moderate difficulty.
Spends a significant amount of time building and nurturing relationships, primarily in face-to-face communications, to site well pads, easements, and related oil & gas facilities.
Establishes and maintains relationships with landowners, stakeholders, industry peers and various counterparts necessary to keep day-to-day operations on track.
Manages the scheduling and staking process with survey crews and when necessary, outside brokers brought in to help on large projects. .
Collaborates with internal WPX groups (Facilities, Production, Drilling/Completions, Marketing, Regulatory and Planning) and outside third-party operators and stakeholders.
Interprets and is able to negotiate terms with Landowners on Surface Land Related contracts, such as, Right-of-Ways, Easements, Surface Use Agreements, Subsurface Easements and other related documents.
Coordinates with State Regulatory agencies all exploration, development, and production issues to facilitate company drilling programs and production goals.
Follows all external and internal federal, state and local policies and procedures related to Land management function.

Education & Experience: Required High School Diploma with 2+ years Surface Landman experience
Preferred: Energy Management Bachelor’s Science Degree, Business, or related discipline; Permian Basin experience
AAPL Membership is preferred
Travel Requirements: Up to 50% of the time to field locations (as needed)
