Acosta Group Director Business Development - Hybrid in Dallas, Texas

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a high-energy, natural/organic sales expert to join our growing team!Works very closely with the Sales Lead where necessary for the client. This person leads the business planning process soup to nuts, including creating alignment on volume and spending objectives across the client team and all Business Development team members.Areas of focus include anything related to LEADING the brand vision and strategy: channel strategy, retailer prioritization, trade strategy and efficiency, new product development, brand extendibility, pricing, promotions & placement.The incumbent in this position should be able to exhibit ACOSTA’s 8 Ways of Working:- Client and customer focused- Deliver Results and on our commitments- Progressive and disruptive- Collaborate internally and with clients- Talent obsessed- Debate in huddle, all-in on running the play- Embrace change- Owner’s mindset

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary client contact

  • In conjunction with client CEO and/or head of sales, DEVELOP and provide proactive diagnosis and recommendations where opportunity exists across multi-channel development and strategic channel planning – including, but not limited to

  • All facets of trade promotion strategy development and assessment

  • Leads annual business planning process for clients

  • Assist with Client sales strategies – including, but not limited to

  • Development, analysis, and implementation of client’s sales objectives

  • Quarterly client discussions regarding results vs. plan

  • Develop CLEAR and ACTIONABLE priorities and plans for sales strategy execution – working with

  • IGNITE Field Sales team,

  • Acosta/broker team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years in sales with at least 3 of those years in new business.

  • Extensive knowledge of natural and grocery channel retailers

  • Broker Management

  • Manufacturer/CPG

  • Working knowledge of distributor network (IE: UNFI, KeHE, etc.)

  • Highly proficient in supermarket math (IE: Profitability, Margin Analysis, Trade Analysis, etc.)

  • Must be able to makepresentations coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
