The Manufacturing Facilities Engineer will offer manufacturing engineering support for the building and equipment, encompassing overhead bridge cranes, water cooling systems, compressed air systems, electrical substations, switchgear, electrical power distribution, building HVAC and air make-up, building expansion, new building site-selection, and concrete/flooring. Essential Duties: Develop specifications (SORs) for new Facilities and equipment, coordinating the quote phase and sourcing analysis. Plan and coordinate equipment buy off, shipping, and installation at the plant (typically Michigan, Alabama, or Mexico), providing full on-site support for start-up and debugging, requiring up to 70% travel. Ensure business plan metrics are met for equipment cost, uptime, cycle time, cost savings, and scrap rate. Support engineering specifications for Facility Infrastructure requirements for new Plant builds. Provide cost estimates for Facilities on new business pursuits, ensuring projects are performed safely, on time, and under budget. Effectively communicate project status to PDT, the Manager at Vandalia Technical Center, and relevant personnel at the manufacturing plant. Investigate new Facility-related improvements and plant energy-reduction options. Requirements: Strong mechanical aptitude and desire to work with machinery and automotive manufacturing processes. Ability to work in a team environment, communicate effectively with contractors, and manage and prioritize multiple tasks under demanding situations. Effective problem-solving skills, ability to travel up to 70% of working days, and proficiency in MS Office Programs - including MS Project and Excel. High degree of self-motivation and self-direction, strong project planning, organization, and documentation skills. Engineering OR 5 years hands-on work experience in Industrial Facilities. Experience with Injection Molding Machinery purchase and install auxiliary equipment, and related facilities such as water cooling systems, electrical distribution, switchgear, electrical power distribution, building HVAC and air make-up, building expansion, new site building site-selection, concrete/flooring, overhead cranes, and building infrastructure.
