This position, with an in-depth experience of Data Center operations and the Information Technology environment, is responsible for small project development and implementation as well as project coordination of all significant environmental and hardware events to minimize impact on mission critical systems.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Coordinates and manages all physical changes within the offsite data centers, specifically stores and warehouse locations. Follows established change management standards.

  • Provides environmental systems planning, management, maintenance scheduling and coordination. This includes electrical (UPS, generator, battery, power distribution, switchgear), HVAC, conference room technology (monitors, camera, microphones, panels), site monitoring (SiteScan, EnviroNet), safety (fire detection, sprinkler), and physical security.

  • Manages vendor relations. Establishes vendor contacts and procedures.

  • Develops and recommends to management improvements and procedures to increase the reliability level of the data centers.

  • Recommends and estimates facility repairs and improvements for inclusion in the annual budget.

  • Maintains high availability of all critical Data Center systems to ensure maximum availability of all corporate mission critical systems.

  • Troubleshoots and provides support for any Operations facilities-related event.

  • Resource planning including space management and infrastructure resources such as electrical and HVAC.

  • Acquires hardware and software necessary to maintain the infrastructure.

  • Project coordination for all significant environmental and hardware events to minimize impact.

  • Oversees construction projects when required due to growth or lifecycle.

  • Recommends budget expenditures.

  • Develops standards and procedures as required.

  • Manages projects as assigned. Establishes and executes complex projects within a specific technology.

  • Provides project implementation assistance and planning in a manner that has no impact to any production systems. This includes equipment receiving and placement, location planning and preparation (floor-tile cuts and reinforcement), power planning and implementation, and cabling.

  • Participates in building facility reviews, new system construction and other planning activities of the facility and data center departments to determine effect on data center activities.

  • Retires hardware – asset reclamation and disposition. Prepares and coordinates the sale and recycling of assets.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of professional experience.

  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, 7 years of professional experience in facilities-related positions.

  • Understands the engineering, design and operational aspects of the facility’s systems and equipment.

  • Excellent follow-through and project management skills.
