Specific responsibilities include:
Mission of Position
Accountable for ensuring regulatory compliance of Indorama IOD products imported and manufactured in India according to regulations related to chemical registration and application of use.
Accountable for ensuring regulatory compliance of Indorama IOD products imported to China according to regulations related to chemical registration and application of use.
Accountable for ensuring regulatory compliance of Indorama IOD products commercialized in APAC regions (except Australia and New Zealand) according to regulations related to chemical registration and application of use.
Main responsibilities:
Develop and maintain an understanding of regulatory activities including laws, regulations, and industry standards,
Maintain current knowledge of IOD’s products, including composition, additives, and trace impurities, as required for regulatory activities and for compliance.
Understand the regulatory compliance requirements for registration, sampling, and use of chemical products and substances in the region.
Coordinate and participate in chemical or product notification/registration activities supporting business, manufacturing, marketing, and sales activities.
Collaborate with R&D and the business on New Product Introductions (NPI). Provide pre-NPI guidance to R&D, provide estimates of costs and timelines to complete the necessary notifications and/or registrations of chemicals and products, and deliver these in a timely manner during the NPI stage.
Establish the needed processes and procedures to maintain overall regulatory compliance.
Address any issues that may arise with regards to product compliance. Carry out in-depth impact analysis and communicate impacts to relevant business departments and functions and recommend the appropriate preventative and/or corrective actions.
Communicate with the businesses and ensure Regulatory Affairs processes relate to business processes, as appropriate.
Act as first point of contact with all businesses commercial and product management departments to initiate processes for commercial product introduction.
Identify regulatory trends that will affect the ability of IOD to introduce new and maintain existing products in the region. Develop and implement a strategic plan for addressing regulatory actions affecting the chemical industry throughout the world.
Develop and implement sustainability strategies, in collaboration with R&D, corporate Sustainability and others.
Participate in industry or regulatory meetings & conferences to stay informed of regulatory, legislative, or technical developments that potentially impact regulatory Compliance of IOD products.
Key performance measures for position
Ensure no regulatory infringement in all countries where Indorama IOD products are sold, as well as in all their specific application of customer uses
On-time delivery of all regulatory evaluation requests related to pipeline or portfolio
Meet governmental deadlines
Be recognized by local and global business areas as an innovative solution provider and partner for regulatory issues and risks
Assure effectiveness to communicate regulatory business opportunities at local and global levels
EHS responsibilities:
To follow site EHS procedure and best practices
Read and understand relevant procedures and perform the work safely
Support site EHS in safety campaigns and safety observations to prevent injuries
Follow the site PSM procedure and implement the PSM culture
Required Knowledge/Skills:
In-depth knowledge of Product Stewardship related legislation and principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and ability to develop and deliver audience-appropriate presentations to internal/external customers
Experience using SAP product stewardship modules strongly preferred (e.g., SVT, Regulatory Blocks).
Very organized and has clear, concise communication
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
Able to leverage one’s leadership and influence skills to drive engagement
Highly motivated and experienced regulatory affairs professional
Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
Required Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs for chemical industry
Required Education:
Mandatory minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Environmental Chemistry, or others
Preferred MBA or a Postgraduate Degree in a life sciences discipline with strong organic chemistry componente
