As a sandblaster, you will be responsible for using specialized equipment to remove paint, rust, dirt, and other contaminants from various surfaces using abrasive materials propelled by compressed air. The Sandblaster will operate sandblasting equipment safely and efficiently. Prepares surfaces by cleaning, masking, and taping as needed before sandblasting. Loads abrasive materials into blasting equipment and adjust settings for optimal performance. Monitors and maintains equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety. Removes old paint, rust, scale, and other contaminants from surfaces using abrasive blasting techniques. Inspects surfaces after blasting to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Cleans and maintains work areas, including disposing of waste materials properly. Follow safety protocols and always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Communicates with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a sandblaster or in a related field preferred. Knowledge of sandblasting equipment, techniques, and materials. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders. Strong attention to detail and quality control skills. Physical stamina and strength to operate equipment and perform manual labor. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
